The educational complex of the Rostov region is one of the largest in the Russian Federation. It includes about three thousand educational institutions of almost all legal forms, types and types. This allows you to get any of the mass professions and specialties demanded by the labor market, and any scientific qualifications.

The structure of the educational network.

About 1 million people are covered by all forms of training and education. In the educational complex of the region there are:

  • 1147 educational institutions;
  • 1283 preschool institutions;
  • 37 orphanages;
  • 18 comprehensive boarding schools;
  • 30 special (correctional) schools and boarding schools;
  • 62 NGO institutions, including 56 subordinate to the Ministry of Education of the region, 6 - subordinate to the Department of Cossacks and cadet educational institutions;
  • 68 institutions of secondary vocational education, including 53 subordinate to the Ministry of Education of the Region, 7 - subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the Region, 5 subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of the Region, 1 subordinate to the Ministry of Sports of the Region, 2 institutions of federal vocational education;
  • 14 state and 11 non-state universities;
  • 353 institutions of continuing education for children, including 3 regional, subordinate to the Ministry of Education of the region, and 205 municipal institutions of additional education for children of departmental affiliation of the Ministry of Education of the region.

About 150 thousand workers are employed in the educational system of the region.

Rostov Region completed the task set by the President of the Russian Federation - teachers' salaries were significantly increased.

The projects “Mortgage for young teachers” and “Teacher's house” are being implemented.

Work to increase the status and prestige of the teaching profession has brought tangible results in recent years - the number of young teachers in the region as a whole has increased significantly and amounted to 9.2% in 2012.

Achievements of teachers of the Don are constantly marked by industry and state awards. 439 teachers carry the high title of Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation.

Material and technical base.

Systematic work on the comprehensive repair of educational facilities has been carried out in the region for several years. 169 municipal educational institutions received funds of the regional and federal budgets in the amount of more than 2.6 billion rubles for overhaul and development of design and estimate documentation in 2010-2012.

All schools in the region are provided with automatic fire alarms and have a signal output to the remote control “01”.

A transport of students living in remote rural areas has been created. 899 school buses fully comply with the safety requirements for transporting children and transport more than 34 thousand students to basic educational institutions.

More than 44 thousand modern computers are in schools in the region. All educational institutions of the region that implement general education programs are provided with access to the Internet. The possibilities of using modern information technologies in the educational process due to this have been significantly expanded. The load of students in educational institutions on 1 computer is 7.7 people.

Implementation of targeted activities.

Rostov Region is one of the leaders among subjects of the Federation for distance learning of children with disabilities. The distance education center for children with disabilities was created on the basis of the sanatorium boarding school No. 28 of Rostov-on-Don, and 3 of its branches were opened (Volgodonsky, Zernogradsky and Novoshakhtinsky). 100% of children in this category who do not have contraindications to this form of education are enrolled in distance learning.

The region adopted the long-term target program "Accessible Environment for 2011-2014" one of the first in the Russian Federation. Improving the quality of comprehensive rehabilitation of children with disabilities, as well as creating a universal barrier-free environment in educational institutions providing joint training for children with disabilities and children without developmental disabilities, is included in this program. The resource center for the support of inclusive education for children with disabilities was created on the basis of a special (correctional) boarding school of II type No. 48 in Rostov-on-Don.

Constant and purposeful work to identify, support and accompany gifted children and talented youth is carried out in the region.

The Olympiad movement, training in part-time and Sunday schools, specialized camps, and expeditions were widely developed. Leading university scientists conduct individual training with gifted children.

Students of institutions of additional education for children of the region become winners and prize winners of more than 120 all-Russian events annually.

25 gifted students of the region annually receive prizes of the Governor of the Rostov region of 10 thousand rubles.

The health care of students is one of the main directions in the activity of state authorities in the Rostov region.

A pilot project for the health care of schoolchildren using the innovative Armis hardware and software systems was launched in 2012. 100 pilot educational institutions in all municipalities of the region, as part of a network interaction with the established Regional Center for Health Care in the field of education, are covered by the project. Formation of an electronic database and constant monitoring of the health status of each student using integrated and innovative diagnostic methods throughout the entire period of study are provided.

The implementation of the project "Universal swimming training" began in conjunction with the Don Swimming Federation in 2012. The project aims at initial training in basic swimming skills.

278 thousand children are engaged in additional education.

The leading position of the Rostov Region during 2006-2012 among the subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of the number of national project laureates in competitive events of a sports-technical orientation is the result of the active work of the established system.

37 institutions for orphans and children without parental care are functioning in the region. 269 ​​foster families, in which 711 children are brought up, are in the region.

The Rostov Region is steadily taking a leading position in the Southern Federal District in implementing a targeted program aimed at providing housing for orphans and children left without parental care.
